Deep Tissue Massage

45/ 60/75/90/120 minute massage treatment (£45, £55, £65, £75, £95).

A deep tissue massage treatment is a therapeutic massage to the deeper levels of muscle tissue, fascia and ligaments that releases chronic tension, pain and inflammation. It uses many techniques including dynamic petriassage to the muscles, tendons and fascia; neuromuscular and trigger point techniques, direct pressure, squeezing techniques and static compressions.

Although deep pressure is applied this does not mean deep tissue masssage is forceful or painful. You may experience a little soreness and heat during or after the massage if some areas are particularly tight but you should feel better than ever within a day or two.

It is important not to over treat any tissues in one session as this will cause the muscles to become full of blood and very hot and therefore a course of treatments may be required to release chronic tension.

A deep tissue massage is a very effective treatment for sports and other injuries.

Deep tissue massage helps to soften hard fibrous tissues and separate adherent fibres. This allows circulation and nutrients to reach all the cells and removes waste products so it relieves pain, congestion and inflammation. It can also help to break up and eliminate scar tissues and improves circulation to the skin and improves skin tone.

Beneficial for the skeletal system, deep tissue massage treatments can improve the range of motion in many joints, clear deposits and debris from old bone injuries and help to restore damaged ligaments and tendons. Importantly deep tissue massage can help to address posture.

It may also enhance the effectiveness of other treatments (osteopathy, chiropractic, physiotherapy etc). Importantly DTM can help to address posture.

My name is Colin, I am 69 years old, but still active in sport (water skiing). My legs suffer from the effects of that activity, making it difficult for me to walk down stairs. Regular sports/medical massage by Natasha has proved most effective, enabling me to continue my sport and walk normally. I am pleased to recommend her services.
